Also, I have been so thankful because I keep getting people's phone numbers!! I just talk to everyone I can on the bus, and it has been working! The other sisters have been asking me how I do it, and it really is just a little prayer and then faith to open your mouth. You never know who will want to learn about the gospel. Talk to everyone and Heavenly Father will help you!
Guess what? I got TWO packages two weeks in a row from Ben and Nadja!!! One had a note from Nadja and the other had a note from Ben and I don't think they know that they each sent me one cause they both had the same stuff!! HAHAHAAHAH It was super sweet of them, they are so thoughtful.
Our mission president (who is the BEST) asked us to start sending a scripture a week to our families. This is my scripture for the week. "And Alma and his people did not raise their voices to the Lord their God, but did pour out their hearts to him; and he did know the thoughts of their hearts. And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort."
I can really relate with this scripture. I pour my heart out to Heavenly Father all day every day. I am constantly having a conversation with Him in my mind. I know He always listens and understands. Even when we don't feel like we can talk to anyone else, we can ALWAYS talk to Heavenly Father. I am thankful for that!!
|Yes, that's really me laying on the ground! :)|
(a story from her journal) Yesterday all of our plans fell through! We walked and walked and walked to less active member's apartments and nobody was home. All day! Literally, all day. Then, at like 7:30 p.m., we went to tape chocolate treats on the door of someone who has a big test this week. We were trying to get in to these apartments, again. This time, it was just Sister W and me. We waited and waited, but nobody came out the doors. Then the Holy Ghost gave me a terribly awesome idea. Next to the entrance to the building was a little fence. Over the little fence was a window. Through the window was the parking garage, and in the garage a car had just pulled in! So I asked Sister W if she would let me hop the fence and climb in the window to the parking garage, and she said I could. So I did! And don't worry, because for 98% of the time, my companion was still in sight and sound of me. Anyway, once I was in the parking garage I snuck in the door to the apartments with the lady who just parked her car. Then I ran and let Sister W in through the front door. (They had a wonderful teaching experience that day in the apartment building). But I would like to quote Sister W's prayer from last night, "We're thankful that every time Sister Beckett does weird things, miracles happen!"
